I’m pretty certain I came out of the womb wearing lipgloss. As long as I can remember, I’ve loved it. So it was no surprise that I took on a part time job working for MAC Cosmetics while in College. What was suppose to be a part time flexible job ended up turning my passion into a career. I left the company 6 years later, as a Regional Trainer for South Texas. A difficult decision to leave what I loved, but having just gotten married and wanting to get back to my hometown of Austin, TX, I chose to pursue a 9-5 with no travel and weekends off.
Again, it was no surprise that after a year, I was literately chomping at the bit to get my hands back in some eye shadow. I launched my local wedding makeup business around that time and for the next few years, I’d spend M-F in the office and the weekends working with brides.
After having my first child, I knew something had to give. I left my full time job in TV Advertising to stay at home. I love my new balance of mommy and makeup and finally feel its time to pursue this dream of mine… an educational blog on makeup that hopefully teaches you some new tricks, or gives you some inspiration the next time you sit at your vanity.
What I’ve learned about myself over the last 12 years, since stepping behind the makeup counter, is that makeup is my passion. It’s my creative outlet. Sephora is my happy place, and I can never have enough pink lipgloss. This is me. No matter how old I get, no matter how life changes for me (college, young professional, marriage, and now mama to 2) I will never shake this passion of mine. I like to think of myself as a “low maintenance glamour girl” (although my husband might disagree with the “low maintenance” part).
My hope is that I am able to share my passion and experience with you and inspire you to take bits and pieces to help you with your beauty routine regardless of your age, lifestyle or interests. We don’t all have to be self proclaimed beauty addicts, but there is something beautiful in all of us. I believe in enhancing it!
