My Must Haves

MAC Lipglass: lipglassConfessions of a lipglass addict. My favorite product to shop for is lipgloss. Which is a little ironic because I’m not a bold lip kind of girl. In fact, I always end up with the same shade of lacquer in my cart, and its always some variation of a pink/peach combo. Day to day, Im a gloss-and-go girl. So I like to find a gloss that has decent color pay off (and not just clear with a tint of color), a gloss that is thick enough to give some good shine and wearability and a gloss that I can get away with wearing without liner or lipstick. A gloss that stands on its own. I have found that in MAC Lipglass. Its all of the above and a bag of chips. And when it wears off, I’m not feeling that tight dry feeling on my lips that I sometimes get from other products. This gloss gets two thumps up! $15 View Here Favorite Shades: Prrr, Pink Lemonade, Viva Glam V, Angel

Kevyn Aucoin Sensual Skin Enhancer: This is a recent obsession. Having recently _6781584discovered this amazing concealer, I can’t say enough great things. I’m so glad the sweet lady at Nordstrom insisted I take home a sample and try for myself. Its a rich, thick, full coverage liquid that covers up the darkest under eyes or uneven skin tone. A little goes a long way and by “little” I actually mean teeny tiny, pen dot amount. I use my finger to apply and blend under the eyes, and although its rich and emollient, it sets nicely and I don’t have to worry about the product moving or creasing in any of those dreaded fine lines that somehow made a presence on my face. $48 View Here

Donna Karan Cashmere Mist antiperspirant and deodorant: Ok, so this is not makeup but this is definitely Donna-Karanone of my FAVORITE products. I’m 31, I live in Texas, and my body has gone through 2 pregnancies (and post pregnancy.) Let’s talk about hormones, and heat and that’s enough to require a good deodorant. I’ve tried them all. Some are great during certain times of the year and others were a total waste on me. DK’s is the only consistent stick that keeps me dry and smelling heavenly. Not kidding, smell this the next time you are at Nordstrom or Sephora and “Heavenly” will be the word that comes to mind. Its $22 a stick, but its huge and so worth it. Sephora sometimes has the mini stick which is around half the price. $22 View Here

Too Faced Shadow Insurance: Best Eye Shadow Primer on the market in my opinion. g_20036Primer is an essential for me. My thought is, why bother with eye shadow if it will only fade or crease in a few hours? Take the extra 30 seconds to blend this over the eye before shadow, and it not only works like glue giving your shadow something to adhere to, but it also keeps it in place and prevents it from creasing throughout the day. Again, I live in Texas and it gets hot here. This product would get me through the longest Summer days. Even through an after work Summer run, my shadow would.not.budge. Try it, you will love it! $20 View Here

Estee Lauder Double Wear Foundation: Foundations are for me, like eye shadows. I DoubleWear-Makeup-Esteee-La-134722_Lswitch them up regularly and grab what I am in the mood for each day. I’ve found some great foundations and have a few that are regularly circulated through my vanity, but this foundation is probably my absolute favorite. I discovered it from fellow beauty blogger MakeupGeek and its been a favorite since. It is a heavier full coverage foundation. If you are not a lover of full coverage foundation, this is not for you. Its not a sheer, natural looking makeup. Applied conservatively, it can give you a excellent coverage without feeling heavy. The finish is what I would call a natural matte finish. Not dry powdery look but not a dewy satin finish. The best benefit of this product to me is definitely the wearability. When I wear this, I rarely touch up (if even at all), and just like the Too Faced Shadow Insurance, this foundation has gotten me through some long Summer Days. If you are a full coverage, makeup loving girl, grab this at your nearest department store and give it a whirl. Its also available in a powder form if you want something a little easier to apply. $37 View Here

MAC Patina Eye Shadow: This is the perfect neutral shade of brown on me and pretty mac_eye_shadowmuch any bride or client I’ve applied it on. Its a frost formulation, but don’t worry, its not overly shimmering or glittery. Its described as a taupe brown with golden pearl on MAC’s website, and I’d agree with that description. Its just enough color to work as an all over lid color and hold on its own. If you are limited to a few minutes in the morning, this would be a great single shadow to blend on your lids and into crease. Finish with a light highlight under your brow an you’ve got a complete look. $15 View Here

Laura Mercier Blush in Rose Petal: Obsessed with this perfect shade of pink and peach. img-thingIts a matte but creamy finish payoff. Highly pigmented for true color payoff that is build able. Love this shade and this texture! $25 View here
